September 29, 2025, marked a pivotal evening for all of us at the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) as we successfully concluded the 51st Annual General Meeting in New Delhi. I had the honour of being elected
as the Vice President of FIP for the term 2025–2026, as part of a newly appointed
Governing Body committed to taking Indian publishing to new heights.
The newly elected leadership team of the Federation of Indian Publishers comprises distinguished and experienced members, with Shri Naveen Gupta serving as the Immediate Past President and Shri Ramesh Mittal taking charge as the President. I am honoured to assume the role of Vice President, alongside Ms. Pushpita Ghosh as Secretary, Shri Neeraj Govil as Joint Secretary, and Dr. Ashok Gupta as Treasurer. Together, this team is committed to strengthening the future of Indian publishing with renewed purpose and collective vision.
It was a moment of immense pride to stand alongside such stalwarts of our industry—each one deeply rooted in the mission of strengthening Indian publishing on both national and global fronts.
As I addressed the members, I emphasised my belief in the power of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership. For me, this new responsibility is not just an honour — it is a commitment to expand our advocacy for stronger copyright protection, foster a robust reading culture, support educational ecosystems, and accelerate India’s presence on the international publishing stage.
Our newly elected President, Shri Ramesh Mittal, delivered a deeply insightful message, reaffirming FIP’s role as a unifying voice — one that stands firm for publishers while embracing the opportunities of the digital era. His words reflected the forward-looking energy that now fuels this leadership team.
I also want to acknowledge the outgoing Governing Body, whose dedication laid a strong foundation of continuity and progress. The transition was seamless — a testament to the spirit of unity and shared purpose that defines the Federation.
As we step into this new term, my vision is clear —
to strengthen alliances, empower publishers with global opportunities, support policy frameworks that nurture education and knowledge exchange, and ensure that Indian publishing continues to inspire the world.
Because to me, publishing is far more than an industry —
Publishing is not just about putting ink on paper or words on a screen; it’s about shaping ideas, amplifying voices, and igniting imagination. The publishing industry is the backbone of a literate society and a critical catalyst for knowledge, progress, and social change.”
With renewed energy and a united leadership, we are ready to guide FIP into another year of impact and progress — with purpose, pride, and unwavering belief in the future of Indian publishing.
